The word, "vocation," comes from the Latin, "vocare," which means, "to call." Your vocation is your calling from God. This calling is from the Lord who invites us to share more deeply in His very life. Our particular vocation will be the means by which we come to share more deeply in His life.

For many men, this will be Holy Matrimony and the raising of a family. But, for others, this will be a call to share in the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Christ has called men since the time of the Apostles to serve as priests and offer the sacraments to the Church.
